Egypt Prepares to Launch the “Real Estate Export Platform” from New Alamein

"NEO GEN" Conference Recommendations Pave the Way for Digital Twinning and PropTech, Ending the Era of Traditional Management for Fourth-Generation Cities

New Capital – Egypt: TECHz – Ashraf Gaber

In a comprehensive government move to digitize the real estate sector, an extensive meeting was held at the Ministry of Housing headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting brought together Eng. Raafat Hindi, The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Eng. Randa Al-Minshawi, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities.

This step comes in line with the key themes strongly highlighted during the “NEO GEN” conference in December 2025, when Dr. Abdel Khalek Ibrahim, Assistant Minister of Housing, affirmed that traditional management methods are no longer suitable for operating fourth-generation cities.

A Global Platform to Enhance the Competitiveness of Egyptian Real Estate

The meeting between the two ministers aimed to follow up on the executive status and coordinate joint efforts to launch the first phase of the “Egyptian Real Estate Export Platform” in the coming period. This includes preparations to implement this advanced system in New Alamein City as an initial hub, given its status as one of the most prominent cities attracting real estate investment.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s commitment to utilizing the latest technologies to provide a seamless and innovative digital experience for both Egyptian and foreign investors. The platform aligns with the highest standards applied in international markets, representing a comprehensive, secure, and multilingual digital system. It aims to: facilitate sales and digital documentation processes with complete confidence and security; enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian real estate on the global map; and place information technology at the service of development to provide an advanced government model that builds an attractive and sustainable digital economy.

New Alamein: An Applied Model for the Era of Digital Twinning

The selection of New Alamein City to launch the platform aligns with the ambitious strategy of the Ministry of Housing to implement real estate technology, which is based on several key pillars:

  • Attracting Foreign Investments: Utilizing “PropTech” technologies to elevate project efficiency and create a stable business environment driven by digital transformation.
  • A Year-Round Economic Destination: Transforming Alamein into a sustainable economic and tourist hub that operates throughout all seasons, rather than just during the summer, by integrating the latest technological systems.
  • Smart Management and Digital Twinning: Relying on virtual models and precise data to manage utility networks, facilitate traffic flow, and control buildings with high efficiency.

“NEO GEN”: Bidding Farewell to the Traditional Management of Fourth-Generation Cities

This accelerated government momentum toward digitization serves as a practical and tangible translation of the core visions presented at the “NEO GEN” Real Estate Technology Conference. The 2026 edition, scheduled to be held in Egypt on December 15, is expected to continue addressing critical “PropTech” issues. These discussions will propel this vital sector toward impactful leaps that align with Egypt’s efforts to achieve leadership at both the Arab and African levels.

Dr. Abdel Khalek Ibrahim, Assistant Minister of Housing, had sounded the alarm during his participation in the conference, categorically affirming that managing and operating fourth-generation cities using traditional methods is “no longer acceptable.” He emphasized that applying digital transformation mechanisms and “digital twinning” concepts in cities like the New Administrative Capital and Alamein is no longer a luxury, but rather an “absolute necessity” to maximize investments and ensure sustainable development. This is precisely what the state is seeking to realistically implement today through the Real Estate Export Platform.
