In a major milestone for regional telecommunications, e& UAE has successfully activated ultra-high 1024QAM modulation on its live, commercial 5.5G network. This groundbreaking deployment establishes e& UAE as the first operator in the region to achieve this technical capability, recording multi-gigabit speeds of up to 4.58 Gbps.
The successful demonstration of this next-generation connectivity was conducted using the newly launched Huawei Pura 90’s smartphone, highlighting the crucial synergy between advanced network infrastructure and consumer hardware.
Higher-order modulation schemes like 1024QAM allow networks to transmit significantly more data within the same frequency bandwidth. By maximizing spectral efficiency, 1024QAM serves as the highest modulation scheme currently available for 5.5G networks. For the end user, this translates to virtually instantaneous downloads, seamless ultra-high-definition streaming, and ultra-low latency for cloud gaming and real-time enterprise applications.
This massive leap in network capacity is designed to power the next wave of digital consumption, which relies heavily on persistent, high-bandwidth connections. Dr. Tamer Eltoni, Senior Vice President for Devices & Future Growth Ventures at e& UAE, emphasized that delivering this multi-gigabit capability directly to consumer devices unlocks the full potential of everyday Artificial Intelligence (AI), immersive technologies, and next-generation digital services.
As AI-driven applications, real-time translation tools, and smart-city infrastructure become increasingly integrated into daily life, networks must evolve to handle the data load without lag or buffering. By deploying 1024QAM on its 5.5G infrastructure, e& UAE is laying the foundation for faster, smoother, and more resilient connectivity that will support advanced digital economies and smarter lifestyles.
