Enterprise digital asset infrastructure platform Cregis has officially announced its expansion into the African market. This move represents the latest milestone in the company’s global growth strategy, following successful deployments across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe, and Latin America.
The expansion comes at a time when Africa is establishing itself as one of the world’s fastest-growing digital asset markets. According to data from blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, Sub-Saharan Africa recorded more than $205 billion in on-chain transaction value between July 2024 and June 2025. This represents a 52% year-on-year increase, highlighting the accelerating adoption of digital assets across the region.
Cregis has identified Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa as its primary focus markets in its latest international expansion strategy, noting that these nations possess some of the continent’s most developed digital asset ecosystems. The surge in regional demand is largely driven by the rising adoption of stablecoins for payments and cross-border transactions, a broader shift toward accessible digital-first financial solutions, and improving regulatory frameworks that create a stronger foundation for enterprise-level adoption.
”We’ve seen this pattern before,” said Shawn Yan, Founder and CEO of Cregis. “Adoption comes first. As businesses grow, the focus shifts to operating digital assets securely, efficiently and in a way that can keep pace with evolving regulatory expectations. That’s where enterprise infrastructure becomes essential, and it’s the same transition we’re beginning to see across Africa”.
As African businesses transition from early digital asset adoption to sustained growth, the need for scalable, enterprise-grade back-end infrastructure is critical. Cregis is targeting crypto exchanges, digital banks, over-the-counter (OTC) trading firms, and stablecoin payment providers. To support these organizations, Cregis offers an integrated suite of tools designed to manage the full lifecycle of digital assets without the need to piece together multiple infrastructure providers.
The platform’s core offerings include Wallet-as-a-Service (WaaS), a dedicated payment engine, TronGas, and crypto off-ramp solutions. Beyond secure wallet technology, Cregis emphasizes systems that integrate treasury operations, governance, and regulatory compliance into a unified infrastructure.
Cregis’s entry into Africa is backed by nearly a decade of experience supporting enterprise customers in high-growth, dynamic markets where adoption often outpaces regulation, such as the Asia-Pacific region. Having already onboarded enterprise clients across the continent, the infrastructure provider plans to deepen its local presence through targeted customer engagement, strategic regional partnerships, and participation in prominent industry events like the Blockchain Africa Conference and Blockfest Africa.
“Our goal isn’t simply to bring technology into the region,” Yan noted. “It’s to help local businesses build digital asset operations that can grow with confidence over the next decade”.
