Cohesity has entered into a strategic agreement with ZainTECH, the digital solutions arm of Zain Group, to deliver advanced, AI-powered cyber resilience and data security services to enterprise customers across the Middle East. The collaboration brings robust data protection to organizations operating in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.
Formalized through the Cohesity Aspire Managed Service Provider (MSP) Program, the partnership enables ZainTECH to expand its portfolio with a fully managed Backup as a Service (BaaS) offering, powered by the Cohesity Data Cloud. This integration moves beyond traditional backup, providing a modern data security platform with capabilities that include AI-powered threat detection for proactive anomaly scanning, immutable backup and ransomware protection to ensure critical data cannot be altered, and advanced recovery orchestration to streamline the restoration process during a crisis.
ZainTECH’s BaaS offering extends protection across complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments, covering on-premises infrastructure, ZainTECH Cloud, public clouds, Microsoft 365, SaaS applications, databases, virtual machines, and container workloads. Delivered as a fully managed service, ZainTECH handles the complete lifecycle – from backup policy design and onboarding to continuous monitoring, incident response, and restoration support.
Enterprises across the region are increasingly prioritizing local providers to ensure their data remains within national borders and complies with strict regulatory frameworks. To meet this need, the service incorporates Cohesity FortKnox, enabling on-premises, self-managed, air-gapped cyber vaults. This sovereign-ready operating model ensures that data is isolated and managed securely within the organization’s jurisdiction.

The partnership arrives at a critical juncture for Middle Eastern digital infrastructure. Gregg Petersen, Regional Director for the Middle East at Cohesity, noted the urgency of modernizing data defenses, pointing out that 59% of UAE organizations experienced a material cyberattack in the past year. With attacks rising daily, the focus has shifted from whether a disruption will occur to how fast an organization can recover. Petersen stated that this collaboration “puts that capability directly in the hands of a trusted regional provider”.
