The Kingdom of Bahrain is accelerating its transition to a cashless economy with the formal expansion of alternative payments provider Pay10 (Payten B.S.C.), headquartered at the Bahrain Financial Harbour in Manama.
This move positions the company as a key player in the Gulf region’s rapidly growing digital payments ecosystem, providing a regulated framework to streamline everyday transactions. The expansion builds on the April 2026 rollout of two dedicated mobile platforms: the Pay10 Bahrain App for consumers and the Pay10 Biz Bahrain App for merchants. For consumers, the platform offers a unified, secure digital experience. Users can execute instant money transfers, conduct local bank transfers, and make QR code-based payments natively through the application.
For small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the Pay10 Biz Bahrain App serves as a highly competitive alternative to legacy payment systems. Available on both Android and iOS, the merchant-first solution allows businesses to accept digital payments securely while benefiting from faster settlement cycles and real-time transaction monitoring. By addressing traditional pain points such as high transaction costs and delayed funds access, the platform aims to improve cash flow and lower operating expenses for local businesses.
A major differentiator for Pay10 in the Bahraini market is its seamless interoperability with BenefitPay, the Kingdom’s widely adopted national electronic wallet. Consumers can use either the Pay10 or BenefitPay application to scan dynamic QR codes for instant transactions. This cross-platform compatibility allows merchants to accept payments from a broader digital user base without requiring any changes to their existing hardware or infrastructure, thereby eliminating switching barriers and encouraging wider adoption.
Operating under a strict framework of regulatory compliance, Pay10 is officially licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain as an Ancillary Service Provider – Payment Service Provider. Harry Gill, Founder and Chairman of Pay10, highlighted the strategic importance of the market, noting that Bahrain offers a strong fintech ecosystem supported by robust regulations and a deep commitment to digital innovation.
“The launch of Pay10 in Bahrain represents another important milestone in our vision of building a truly interconnected payments ecosystem across the region,” Gill stated. He emphasized that the company’s ambitions extend beyond simply enabling payments; the goal is to support Bahrain’s broader vision of a cashless, innovation-led future through cutting-edge technology and local market integration.
