The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESCTI) has presented the National Network for Education and Research of Angola (AngoREN) alongside an Executive Roadmap for the Digital Transformation of Higher Education during a national roadshow held in Benguela province.
The event took place on Wednesday, May 13, at the Flow Hotel in Ombaka, and forms part of the Higher Education, Science and Technology Development Project (TEST), which aims to modernise Angola’s education and research ecosystem through digital innovation.
According to MESCTI, the initiative is designed to promote AngoREN to government stakeholders, the academic and scientific community, telecommunications and technology companies, and the wider public. The goal is to highlight its strategic importance in supporting national development and advancing digital connectivity across higher education institutions.
The ministry said the programme seeks to strengthen Angola’s integration into the global research and education ecosystem by building a more connected, technology-enabled academic environment.
The Digital Transformation Roadmap is expected to guide the adoption of modern digital infrastructure across universities and research institutions, improving access to knowledge systems and enhancing collaboration within the country and internationally.
Through AngoREN and the broader transformation plan, MESCTI aims to accelerate innovation, improve academic networking, and support the long-term digital modernization of Angola’s higher education sector.
