Algerian telecommunications operator Djezzy and the General Union of Algerian Traders and Craftsmen (UGCAA) have officially signed a framework agreement to accelerate the digitalization of local merchants and artisans. Signed on September 12, 2026, the partnership aims to modernize the country’s commercial ecosystem and equip business owners with essential digital tools.
The agreement was formalized at the Centre International des Conférences (CIC) in Algiers by Boumediene Senouci, General Manager of Djezzy, and Issam Bedrissi, Secretary-General of the UGCAA. The signing took place on the sidelines of the UGCAA’s 70th-anniversary celebration, an event officially sponsored by Djezzy. The collaboration provides merchants and artisans with the technological solutions needed to seamlessly transition their traditional operations into the digital economy.
By leveraging Djezzy’s telecommunications infrastructure, the initiative will expand digital payment access and enhance financial inclusion across the country. This joint effort supports Algeria’s broader national strategy to create a connected, efficient business environment, perfectly aligning with Djezzy’s ongoing mission to utilize its technological expertise to modernize everyday commerce and the national economy.
