Redmond: TECHz – News Desk
Microsoft has closed out its 2026 fiscal year with a massive earnings beat, propelled by accelerating demand for its artificial intelligence solutions and cloud infrastructure.
Driven heavily by core infrastructure demand, the tech giant’s latest earnings highlight how foundational AI transformation has become for enterprise customers globally. While earlier milestones saw the company post $76.4 billion in Q4 2025, Microsoft’s official Q4 2026 results issued from Redmond, Washington, shattered that previous benchmark, pushing quarterly revenue to $90.0 billion. This represents an 18% year-over-year growth, or 17% in constant currency.
The fourth quarter, ended June 30, 2026, demonstrated strong double-digit growth across all major profitability metrics compared to the previous year. Operating income rose 18% to $40.6 billion. Net income reached $35.8 billion, marking a 31% increase, while diluted earnings per share grew 32% to $4.81.
The results were unmistakably driven by Microsoft Cloud, which generated $59.3 billion in revenue for the quarter, a 27% year-over-year increase. Within the Intelligent Cloud segment, revenue reached $39.3 billion, representing a 32% increase. A significant portion of this success stems from Azure and other cloud services, which saw a remarkable 43% revenue surge.
Highlighting the scale of this adoption, Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella confirmed a major milestone for the company’s infrastructure, noting that Azure revenue surpassed $100 billion for the first time this year, and Microsoft 365 Copilot reached over 30 million paid seats.
Beyond the core cloud infrastructure, Microsoft saw sustained momentum across its broader ecosystem. Productivity and Business Processes revenue grew, with Microsoft 365 Consumer cloud revenue increasing by 24% and Dynamics 365 revenue growing by 13%. The professional networking platform LinkedIn saw a 12% revenue increase, and search advertising revenue, excluding traffic acquisition costs, increased by 10%. Furthermore, Microsoft distributed $10.2 billion through dividends and share repurchases during the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026.
