The Arab Federation for Electronic Media, chaired by Faisal Khalifa Al-Sawagh, signed a strategic partnership with “Egypt for Electronic Content” to accelerate digital transformation and enhance the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Arab media. The cooperation focuses on transferring and localizing Egyptian expertise in managing intelligent journalistic content, adopting automated newsrooms, virtual correspondents, and automating digital campaigns, with an emphasis on AI ethics and safety.
This agreement was announced during the Arab Federation delegation’s visit, led by Faisal Khalifa Al-Sawagh, to the Cairo ICT 2025 Exhibition and Conference in Cairo.
Faisal Al-Sawagh explained that the protocol represents a qualitative leap to position Arab media at the forefront, achieving greater speed and accuracy in journalistic work, stressing the importance of training journalistic staff on the ethical and responsible use of digital tools.
Aisha Al-Afifi, Chairwoman of the Board of “Egypt for Electronic Content,” stated that the partnership signals that Arab media is ready to meet the demands of the digital future, transferring the company’s expertise in producing innovative content through smart newsrooms and virtual correspondents to Arab institutions.
Dr. Walid Haggag, Information Security Advisor, highlighted the importance of cyber-protecting newsrooms to safeguard content against attacks and digital manipulation, emphasizing the necessity of cybersecurity training to maintain platform credibility. Meanwhile, Dr. Nevin Hosni underlined the role of digital psychology in guiding AI algorithms to produce interactive, reliable content compatible with the psychological profile of the Arab audience, affirming that digital transformation requires psychological support for journalistic staff.
Media professional Sharif Farhat spoke about the importance of developing audio content, podcasts, and virtual presenters to create an authentic audio identity for each institution, ensuring the quality of smart models to engage effectively with the audience, and calling for training journalists to produce multi-format content.
