Huawei has unveiled its strategy for accelerating artificial intelligence adoption across Saudi Arabia, emphasizing a full-stack approach that spans connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and computing at LEAP 2026.
The technology giant noted that Saudi Arabia’s ICT market has grown significantly to $53 billion, representing an 89.5% increase since 2017. With the digital economy now contributing 16% of the national GDP and 5G network coverage reaching 86% of the Kingdom, Huawei states that a robust digital foundation is already in place.
The company stressed that the next phase of digital transformation must move beyond simple AI applications and focus on comprehensive infrastructure that can handle large-scale, enterprise-level deployments. Detailing its continued investment of more than 20% of its annual revenue into research and development, Huawei is expanding its in-house capabilities across critical technology domains.
Key technological advancements include AI-enhanced networking like Agentic RAN, AI OTN, and AI WAN alongside DWDM and 5G platforms. For computing power, the Atlas SuperPoD platform can support up to 8,192 Neural Processing Units for large-scale AI training and inference. Furthermore, Huawei Cloud operates Class C 3AZ public cloud nodes that keep data within Saudi Arabia, offering latency under 25 milliseconds for highly secure and sovereign applications, while actively promoting open ecosystems through HarmonyOS, openEuler, and GaussDB.
To ensure sustainable AI adoption, Huawei is actively expanding its local partnerships by collaborating with over 800 global independent software vendors, 1,500 local system integrators, and 300 delivery partners. On the human capital front, the company is leveraging more than 30 ICT Academies established across Saudi Arabia to train approximately 10,000 local ICT professionals annually. This directly aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals to build a sustainable, future-ready technology workforce.
