The patent-pending solution utilizes advanced AI-based signal processing designed to run on standard AI for edge Neural Processing Units (NPUs), exhibiting exceptional performance across a wide variety of non-cooperative and non-static interference scenarios. During preliminary demonstrations, Gilat reported substantial operational advancements over conventional methods, delivering up to a tenfold improvement in both interference detection and cancellation compared to traditional mitigation techniques.
The primary signal of interest remained virtually unaffected after the interference was cancelled, resulting in only negligible degradation in overall signal quality. Crucially, the solution successfully manages challenging interference conditions while maintaining full compatibility with modern satellite communication architectures.
Looking forward, Gilat plans to demonstrate this technology on dedicated AI accelerator hardware. This next phase aims to facilitate low-power edge deployment directly within operational satellite communication terminals, addressing the growing global need for enhanced reliability and service continuity in increasingly congested spectrum environments.
